Clare Durham
Head of Ceramics, Glass, Decorative Arts and Auctioneer

Clare joined Henry Aldridge and Son in 2025, following 18 years running the British and Continental Ceramics and Glass department at Woolley and Wallis. She has experience in cataloguing Asian Art and wrote the first standalone catalogue of Yixing and Zisha teawares. Past notable sales have included the John Bartlam
teapot, to the Metropolitan Museum in New York for £575,000, two of three recorded plats d’entremets from Louis XV’s service at Vincennes for £118,000 and many single-owner collections.
Clare is a member of the English Ceramic Circle, French Porcelain Society and Oxford Ceramics Group. She is a regular public speaker at several societies and events, and has had articles featured in publications including Homes & Antiques, Antique Collecting, and the Glass Circle newsletter. Her particular interests include English delftware and early Chelsea porcelain.
